The Four Women Collection was inspired by Nina Simone’s song, Four Women. Aunt Sarah, Saffronia, Sweet Thing, and Peaches are depicted as the same woman distinguished only by their black, yellow, tan, and brown skin tones. Just as Black women in this country are the same woman, sans skin tone, who view and are viewed by the world through the same gaze. It is not so important how we view the world but how we view ourselves: as beautiful, powerful Black women!
